The employees of UNICO Group (www.unicogroup.com) took action after hearing an announcement on the radio for a shortage of water at the People’s City Mission. Altogether the UNICO team collected $500 in cash donations. With two trucks and several SUVs, they delivered 200 cases of water and a $100 cash donation to the People’s City Mission.
“After sending out an email to see if anyone would like to contribute I had an overwhelming response of people wanting to help, receiving $100 in two hours,” said Sherry Spies of UNICO. “Part of UNICO’s mission is to help the community and if the City Mission needs water, we are going to get them water!”
People’s City Mission (www.peoplescitymission.org) was founded in 1907 and serves as Lincoln’s primary homeless shelter, helping more than 30,000 individuals each year through its various services.
