Since 2012, Visionary Youth (visionaryouth.org) has been a beacon of hope for youth and families facing financial challenges as they navigate some of the most challenging times of the year, including the holiday seasons. For many of our neighbors, the holidays can be an especially difficult time as parents look for ways to create meaningful celebrations for their children while managing the demands of everyday essential needs.
Now in its sixth year, the Community Holiday Food Giveaway helps ease this burden by serving more than 1,200 families with a turkey, a full Thanksgiving meal package and essential winter clothing, including socks, underwear, hats and gloves. More than just providing food, this event allows families to share in the cherished tradition of preparing and enjoying a holiday meal together, focusing on warmth, connection and hope.
As costs and demand rise, Visionary Youth is calling on the community to help make this effort possible. The Community Holiday Food Giveaway is coming up on November 23.
