Voices of Hope was recently the recipient of a $2,500 grant, as the organization was chosen by the local winner of The Respect Challenge in the Midwest region, Amy Bolton Mundell.  The Respect Challenge allows entrants to recognize someone in the community who they would like to thank for teaching them respect in a brief essay, and winners are able to choose a local non-profit to support through funds provided through The Respect Challenge.  This campaign is organized by Futures Without Violence, a national non-profit organization working to end violence against women, children and families around the world.  To view Amy’s essay and the other winners across the nation, visit the Futures Without Violence page on Facebook and click on the RespectChallenge tab.

Celebrating its 40th year of serving the Lincoln community, Voices of Hope offers 24-hour-a-day support and services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, incest, stalking, and related forms of abuse.  All services are free, confidential and offered to women and men, including the 24-hour crisis line,  (402) 475-7273, 24-hour victim advocacy at hospitals, and daily walk-in services. Voices of Hope also offer support groups, crisis counseling, safety planning, assistance with protection orders, basic needs, and on-campus services at UNL.
