Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (mtko.org), Lincoln’s largest community kitchen and outreach center, is partnering with sponsors and volunteers for their 27th annual Huskers Helping the Homeless and they need you on their team! This event raises money for the organization’s hunger relief and homeless prevention services offered 365 days of the year.
Volunteers are a critical part of this event – without them it wouldn’t happen! Volunteers will be stationed at Walmarts, Sam’s Clubs, Russ’s Markets and Super Savers throughout Lincoln from Thursday, September 28, to Saturday, September 30, to accept donations on behalf of the working poor and homeless. Volunteers will also be scattered throughout downtown Lincoln when Nebraska takes on Michigan at Memorial Stadium on September 30. Businesses, church groups, school teams, families and individuals are welcome and encouraged to join the Huskers Helping the Homeless team! To sign up to volunteer or sponsor the event, please scan the QR code! Donations for the event can be made online at mtko.org.
Whether it is a few meals served with love to help a family make it until the next paycheck or one-on-one counseling to help a person experiencing chronic homelessness become successfully housed, financial contributions to Matt Talbot provide bold hope and help change lives. Join the Matt Talbot “Huskers Helping the Homeless” team today and Go Big Red!
