The YMCA of Lincoln (ymcalincoln.org) is excited to announce the return of the ninth annual Railyard Rims, sponsored by SCHEELS, on Aug. 1-2. In collaboration with the Downtown Lincoln Association, this 3-on-3 basketball tournament will transform the streets of the Railyard into an electric arena, with players competing for more than just hardware.

Friday night, Aug. 1, features the Adult Cup, where teams of all skill levels will play under the lights in a fast-paced showcase. Saturday, Aug. 2, spotlights the Youth Cup, tipping off at 9 a.m. as the next generations of hoopers take center court.

Each team is guaranteed four games, with a maximum of 24 teams in the Adult Cup and 32 in the Youth Cup. Team registration is $205 for the Adult Cup and $125 for the Youth Cup, and includes a player T-shirt. A $20 late fee will be applied for registrations received from July 17-23.

“This event brings energy to downtown Lincoln while shining a light on the Y’s mission to strengthen our community through life-changing programs for youth, families and seniors,” shared Renee Yost, president and CEO of the Lincoln YMCA. “We’re grateful for our continued collaboration with SCHEELS and the Downtown Lincoln Association to help make it possible.”

Proceeds from Railyard Rims support the YMCA of Lincoln’s annual fundraising campaign, which provides financial assistance for families across Lincoln. In 2024, the Y helped more than 1,300 families participate in programs like swim lessons, youth sports and senior activities – with over $800,000 in support given.

Team registration is open through July 23 at YMCALincoln.org.
