Youth for Christ Calls on Serving Hands Sponsors for Local Artists

Campus Life, a ministry of Youth for Christ (yfclincoln.org), is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a public art project, Serving Hands: Celebrating 50 Years of Campus Life. In total there were 175 submissions received from Nebraska artists and of those, 82 proposals were selected to advance to the sponsorship phase of the project. In order for an artist’s creative idea on paper to be transformed into a six-foot fiberglass sculpture, a sponsorship is necessary.

Campus Life has set a goal of at least 50 full-sized sculptures sponsored, created, and installed to celebrate its golden anniversary! The imaginative and whimsical sculptures will be displayed around Lincoln from May to August of 2019, after which they will be auctioned off to the highest bidder with most of the proceeds going to Campus Life.

Are you interested in selecting an artist’s proposal and acting as that artist’s patron by sponsoring their proposal? Individuals, businesses, and organizations may select designs they would like to sponsor by going to the project website at servinghandslincoln.org. You may also schedule an appointment to see the proposals in the 2nd floor courtroom of Old Historic City Hall, 920 O St.

If you have questions related to sponsoring an artist or would like to set up an appointment to view the proposals, contact Project Director Liz Shea-McCoy at (402) 430-5923 / liz_shea@windstream.net.
