Youth for Christ’s Serving Hands Lincoln to Host Community Event and Public Auction

Youth for Christ Lincoln (www.yfclincoln.org) Area’s Serving Hands public art project will culminate at the end of this month with a community event on October 24, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., and public auction on October 25, 5–10 p.m. Both events will be held at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.

On Thursday, all 39 full-sized sculptures and the traveling exhibit of 12 small-scale sculptures will be on display. Artists will be around to discuss their design inspiration and creative process. Gina and Joe, hosts of B107.3’s Morning Show, will be on-site providing commentary and music for the event. Additionally, kids activities hosted by Lincoln Children’s Museum and Urban Air will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Don’t miss the special guest appearance from a beloved superhero!

On Friday, all sculptures will be sold to the highest bidder. Everyone is invited to attend whether you want to bid or just watch. One-third of the bid amount for each sculpture will go to the artist with the remaining amount going to Campus Life, the project’s nonprofit sponsoring organization.

The full-sized sculptures are part of the live auction. The small-scale sculptures will be sold through a silent auction, which begins Thursday at the community event and ends Friday at the end of the live auction.
