Clinic with a Heart (clinicwithaheart.org) welcomes Joanna Calel to the position of Director of Communications. Joanna Calel has studied English and Sociology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and has over two years of experience in communications and social media management. She has previously served as the Culturally Based Fraternal Organizations Summer Intern for the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (OFSL) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2024 and as the Vice President of Community Engagement and Public Relations for the Multicultural Greek Council also within OFSL. Joanna’s unique experiences in design and storytelling guarantee a new perspective to the image of Clinic with a Heart. Joanna Calel will oversee all digital communications and grant writing for the Clinic.
“I learned to suffer in silence too, to bear pain because my parents couldn’t afford a medical bill. When Clinic with a Heart extended its hand toward me I became another of their patients. This opportunity to help serve my community is healing, and although my strengths don’t lie in my ability to treat patients or diagnose, I can proudly showcase those who do.”
