Christy Merritt Nominated for COAHP 2017 Professional of the Year

Christy Merritt, Executive Director of Waterford Communities Assisted Living (www.thewaterford.net) was nominated for the prestigious 2017 Professional of the Year Award. The annual awards meeting and breakfast of the Coalition for Older Adult Health Promotion (COAHP) was held on October 20, 2017.

Christy has shown what one person is able to accomplish when their heart is devoted to the well-being of seniors. She has incorporated high standards for staff at all three Waterford locations and has put her personal touch on each facility to make them seem like home to the residents. She has worked tirelessly to streamline the entry process while serving on various boards and organizations. She has no hesitation about bringing community resources, including APS and government contacts into play if she witnesses injustice or abuse with families and residents. Christy never turns away from an opportunity to learn or to teach the value of seniors in our community and our world. She is respectful, compassionate and fully deserving of the nomination.
