DSAF of Nebraska Welcomes Dawna Daily and Mary Sweeney
The Down Syndrome Association for Families (DSAF; www.dsafnebraska.org) is excited to announce that, in April, Dawna Daily joined the organization as the new program director. In addition, earlier this year, the organization brought on Mary Sweeney as the new marketing and development director.
Dawna is a motivated program developer, presenter, and educator with over 15 years of experience. She has a history of executive-level decision-making, analyzing problems, and finding solutions, and working within all levels of local, state, and national guidelines to deliver the best programming while maintaining policy, procedure, and documentation. Dawna received her master’s degree in special education from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and she holds teaching endorsements in work-based learning and transition. She comes to DSAF with experience working within the University Centers of Excellence on Developmental Disabilities at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and previously taught resource and transition at the Elkhorn Public Schools. Dawna can be reached at (402) 206-3092 or director@dsafnebraska.org.
Mary has already been making great strides as she applies her creativity and energy to furthering the mission of DSAF. Mary came to DSAF with over 14 years of experience in program management, project development, volunteer engagement, marketing, and corporate partner/donor engagement and retention. She is primarily responsible for implementing the organization’s strategic fundraising plan to secure financial resources in support of DSAF programs and services. She leads a new Fundraising Committee and oversees the Communications Committee, which manages the organization’s brand, Down Syndrome Community Connections newsletter, and all other aspects of marketing for DSAF. Mary also acts as the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk’s staff co-chair, the organization’s primary awareness and fundraising event that takes place in October every year. To connect with Mary, call (402) 202-0193 or email mary@dsafnebraska.org.
