After 44 years of building, owning, and operating many restaurants—including daVinci’s (www.davincis.com), Pontillo’s Pizzeria, and even a Family Fun Center—Kent Knudson has announced his retirement. Kent moved to Lincoln from Sioux Falls, SD in 1977 to pursue family business opportunities. Kent’s father Kal was a minister in Missouri whose brother introduced the Knudson family to Pontillo’s, a pizzeria in Minneapolis. Kent was one of four original partners of a family business that opened a Pontillo’s Pizzeria Lincoln location at 13th and Q streets in 1978. The site of that pizzeria was later purchased by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Four additional partners were eventually added, leading to the development of daVinci’s, which has five Lincoln locations today. Kent eventually became vice president and then assumed the title of company president. His dedication and hard work has touched the lives of many.

daVinci’s starts with the finest, freshest ingredients. ALL of their meats are chosen based on quality and flavor, and they use 100% real mozzarella. Their Italian bread is baked fresh daily and vegetables are sliced fresh each morning, and their alfredo and marinara sauces are homemade and developed by their family.
