Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties (www.communityactionatwork.org) is pleased to announce the most recent recipient of the Community Action at Work Award: longtime volunteer Marian Malone. Marian has been a Community Action volunteer for over 10 years and has given over 1,500 hours of volunteer service to the agency.

Any time there is a need at Community Action, Marian steps up to fill it. She has helped in the Community Action store, done data entry for Tenant Support Services, scanned documents for the fiscal department, and helped cover the front desk. That’s all in just the last six months!

“Marian has been an outstanding volunteer in the Community Action store. Whether she is helping with laundry, cleaning, donations, toy distribution, or participants, she does it all with a cheerful and positive attitude. Marian loves everything about kids, and she does a fantastic job keeping the baby clothes organized. Thank you, Marian, for the wonderful work you have done all these years for the store,” said Beth Donahue, Community Action store coordinator.

Community Action’s mission is to empower people living in poverty to reach economic stability. Its programs and services address the causes and conditions of poverty in four impact areas: early childhood education, homelessness prevention, financial and family well-being, and hunger relief and healthy food access.
