Meg Damme has been a guiding light at Fresh Start (FreshStartHome.org) for two decades, paving the way for transformation, healing, and hope. Her legacy is deeply woven into the heart of their mission, and they are proud to celebrate her 20th anniversary!
Mrs. Damme began her employment journey at Fresh Start in 2005 as a part-time On-Call staff member. Within six months, she transitioned into a full-time Case Manager, later advancing to Lead Case Manager and then Program Director. Over the years, she has continually demonstrated steadfast dedication, deep compassion, and an unrelenting commitment to the women she serves. Her leadership extends to enhancing the residential program, mentoring staff, and providing direct support to clients. In recognition of her impact and leadership, Mrs. Damme was promoted to Associate Executive Director in July in 2024. Beyond her role at Fresh Start, Meg actively contributes to the broader community. She currently serves on the Governor’s Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse, and the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) Board and previously served on the Family and Consumer Advisory Board.
Her impact has been, and continues to be, truly life-changing for the women served. When asked about her longevity at Fresh Start, Mrs. Damme shared, “As a proud alum of the program, to me, there is no greater reward in the world than being a part of someone’s success, even if it’s watching and supporting from the side. Supporting both staff and residents with their goals keeps me going.”
