Midwest Bank is proud to announce that its Pilger Market President, Gene Willers, was recently announced as the 2015 Philanthropist of the Year by the Philanthropy Council of Northeast Nebraska.  He was awarded this honor as a result of the selfless generosity he has displayed in his efforts during and after the devastating tornado to protect and rebuild the town of Pilger.  Midwest Bank has been a mainstay in Pilger for over 60 years and their roots are deeply embedded in the community.  Shortly after the devastation was realized, the Pilger Community Development Fund was set up at Midwest Bank to accept donations to aid in recovery and rebuilding the community and received hundreds of donations with 100% of the money being distributed directly to Pilger residents.  The Philanthropy Council of Northeast Nebraska honored Willers and the three other award winners for their contributions at its Celebrate Giving banquet held on January 31st.

Midwest Bank, headquartered in Pierce, Nebraska, has ten bank locations in nine communities across Eastern Nebraska:  Pierce, Pilger, Plainview, Creighton, Norfolk, York, Deshler, Lincoln and Wisner.  Midwest Bank’s core mission is to build strong relationships with their clients through dedicated and trusted service.
