MilkWorks (milkworks.org) is welcoming a new Community Health Worker (CHW), Mardo Tarr to its team through a partnership with the Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department, expanding the support available to families in the Lincoln community.
In her role at MilkWorks, Mardo will help families navigate the resources available to them both within MilkWorks and throughout the community. She will help facilitate postpartum peer support groups and work one-on-one with families to identify needs and connect them with local resources and services that can provide additional support.
“Families often need more than one kind of support, and knowing where to turn can sometimes be the hardest part,” said Tiffany Uher, MilkWorks Executive Director. “This partnership gives us another way to help families feel connected, supported and empowered to find the resources that are right for them.”
This position strengthens the collaboration between MilkWorks and the Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department and reflects a shared commitment to improving health and well-being for families in the community.
MilkWorks provides evidence-based lactation support, education, classes, support groups and other resources to help families reach their breastfeeding goals in a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment.
