Nebraska Community Foundation is pleased to announce the promotion of Jim Gustafson to a new leadership position as director of advancement and gift planning. Gustafson has served as gift planning director since 2005, helping individuals, families and their businesses implement charitable gift plans to benefit NCF and its affiliated funds across the state. Gustafson will assume additional duties in developing and implementing marketing strategies for fundraising and donor cultivation to support and sustain the mission of NCF.

Nebraska Community Foundation’s planned giving program benefits affiliated funds serving more than 250 communities in Nebraska. Gustafson has guided the growth of the foundation’s current planned giving, which now totals over $49 million.

Gustafson has been involved in financial and charitable estate planning throughout his career. He has served on the planned giving staffs of the University of Nebraska Foundation and the Salvation Army. He has led workshops for professional advisors throughout Nebraska and in several other states. He has been a speaker at the National Philanthropic Planning Conference, and is the past-president of the Nebraska Partnership for Philanthropic Planning. Gustafson is the 2012 recipient of the J. Robert Sandberg Award in recognition of service to the gift planning profession.
