Pemberly Place Welcomes Kathy Schultz as Volunteer Addition to Activities Team

Pemberly Place (pemberlyplace.com) is proud to welcome Kathy Schultz as an addition to the Activities team. Kathy has a long list of volunteer work and is always willing to learn new things—and the residents love having her around! Raised in Nebraska City, she learned about volunteering when she was in high school and she joined several friends in volunteering to give tours at the Arbor Lodge State Park Mansion (home of Arbor Day) during the summer and found it to be a great way to meet people and to help visitors learn about history.

“My career has afforded me the opportunity to meet a lot of people in the Lincoln community,” Kathy said. “Before volunteering at Pemberly Place, I was an executive assistant in an assistant living facility, and it was there I came to realize how wonderful and educating seniors are. Their family and work histories are truly inspirational. I love that Pemberly Place has a very active activities program with something for everyone, too! Some of the residents have taught me how to play cards; we have weekly movies, twice a week Bingo, crafts, and we celebrate every holiday in grand style. It is the residents’ generous spirit, and the exceptional Pemberly Team, that make my volunteer hours so meaningful.”

Pemberly Place is known throughout Lincoln for their creative service planning and attention to each resident’s individual needs. Locally owned, the community offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care options. To learn more or volunteer, call (402) 413-9770 or visit pemberlyplace.com.
