On Tuesday, Feb. 3, TeamMates of Lincoln welcomed nearly 350 guests at their annual Recognition Celebration event. Guests were able to celebrate the connections, growth, and vibrant community they continue to build together in TeamMates (and literally at the event). Guests were invited to write names of people and organizations that help support them on a ‘Lego’ brick to then add to one collective cityscape. This display showed that we truly all belong and we all have people that help us “click in”, like a TeamMates mentor.

Many awards were given that night, including Decade of Difference, Mentor Hall of Fame, Facilitator Award of Excellence, and Community Involvement Award. Perhaps the most special moment was when 44 students were awarded the Student Achievement Award.

The evening ended with LPS Superintendent, John Skretta, and Lincoln TeamMates Board President, Greg Bouvier, congratulating all award winners and calling out the need for more mentors. Over 500 students are waiting for a TeamMates Mentor in Lincoln.
