Union Bank & Trust (UBT) (UBT.com) recently promoted Tom Jara to the position of Vice President of Business Development at its University of Nebraska – Lincoln location.

Jara started at UBT in 2018 as a floating teller and has worked in the Customer Service department since promoting to personal banker later that year, branch manager in 2019, and regional manager in 2020. In his new role, Jara will be responsible for overseeing the UNL branch and cultivating relationships between the branch team and UNL students, faculty, and staff.

A graduate of Bellevue University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Jara is the co-chair of UBT’s internal Community Involvement committee. An active member of the community, Jara is a member of Leadership Lincoln’s Flagship 40 Cohort, serves as secretary of the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Lincoln and Lancaster County, and volunteers for Junior Achievement and as a TeamMates mentor.
