Basketball takes over the Railyard on Saturday, Aug. 1, as the YMCA of Lincoln (YMCALincoln.org), the Downtown Lincoln Association and title sponsor SCHEELS host this year’s Railyard Rims 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the Historic Haymarket.
The event draws teams and fans from across the region for a full day of competition in one of Lincoln’s most energetic outdoor settings. The Youth Cup tips off at 9 a.m., followed by the Adult Cup at 1 p.m.
Proceeds from the tournament help ensure local children and families have access to child care, swim lessons, youth sports, wellness programs, camp experiences and other YMCA opportunities regardless of their ability to pay.
“Railyard Rims is one of our favorite days of the summer,” said Todd Johnson, Executive Director of Youth Sports. “It’s competitive, it’s fun and every team that signs up is helping make sure kids in our community have access to the programs that keep them active and healthy.”
Railyard Rims will take place Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Railyard in downtown Lincoln.
