Southeast Community College’s Radiologic Technology program recently received a positive report from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
The Committee awarded SCC’s program “maintenance of accreditation for a period of eight years.” That means that the next site visit will be conducted during the first quarter of 2015. The program received the maximum eight-year accreditation back in February 2007.
The program, taught face-to-face on the Lincoln Campus, as well as online, is 24 months long and prepares students to work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices, and private/governmental institutions. Graduates are eligible to work in any state in the nation once they have earned their board certification and attained necessary state licensure.
The JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry. SCC’s program was evaluated according to the Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiologic Sciences (2002).
