SP Group, P.C., (www.spgrouppc.com) a growing entrepreneurial accounting firm, recently held a basketball challenge between the tax season interns and their mentors. The pop-a-shot basketball arcade-style game consisted of a 20-person bracket – the SP Group version of March Madness. The tournament was dueled out, head-to-head, in front of their cheering teammates. A few friendly wagers might have been thrown down as they battled to the championship round. Coming out on top was mentor Clayton Peterson and intern Jennifer Sedlacek.

The final pairing did not disappoint in a hotly contested showdown, where pushing, shoving and stealing balls was all fair game but it didn’t rattle the defending champion, Clayton Peterson. He won in honorable fashion and was declared the winner – three-peat for Pete!

This contest was a terrific opportunity to mix some light-hearted fun in with the serious business of helping their clients with their tax service needs. Furthermore, the basketball challenge immerses SP Group’s interns into their culture of teamwork and competitiveness.
