October 12th-14th, 2011, internationally recognized author and speaker; Dr. Bob Willard will speak with business leaders, students, faculty, sustainability champions, green teams, environmental groups, community leaders and the general public about the “business case” for sustainability, and provide advice on how to champion sustainability within one’s own organization. Six (6) events are planned in both Lincoln and Omaha.

Corporations are under increasing pressure to embrace social and environmental responsibility. Until now, there’s been very little evidence expressed in business language showing the benefits of the “triple bottom line” (People, Planet, Profits). Dr. Willard demonstrates that the benefits of sustainable development strategies make good business sense.

These events and workshops are designed to provide actionable tools for implementing sustainable practices within organizations that protect the environment, attract talent, inspire innovation and increase profitability. To teach sustainability champions how to navigate barriers to sustainable development within their organization.

Sponsored by WasteCap Nebraska, University of Nebraska-Omaha College of Business Administration, Cleaner Greener Lincoln, LES, OPPD, RDg, Assurity, State Farm, General Dynamics, CJ Consolidated Enterprises, USGBC, Nucor Corporation, Mayflower, Union Bank & Trust, and, University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
