Advanced Medical Imaging – Your Image Is Being Read By The Best

Advanced Medical Imaging (AMI) (AMImaging.comis the largest independent radiology group in Nebraska. AMI’s mission is to provide compassionate, patient-focused care through regional awareness, advanced technology, unsurpassed operational excellence, teamwork, and leadership.

Advanced Medical Imaging’s history started over 60 years ago with the founding of the group Radiology Associates. The original partnership included Dr. John T. McGreer, Jr., Dr. J. Marshall Neely and Dr. Orvis A. Neely and formed in 1947. The group became a professional corporation as Radiology Associates, P. C. (RAPC) in 1970. In 2001, the then 10 physicians of RAPC opened the doors of Advanced Medical Imaging in Lincoln, the first full service digital imaging center in Nebraska.

Today over 30 radiologists make up Advanced Medical Imaging. These physicians provide services to Advanced Medical Imaging’s full-service clinic in Lincoln, Advanced Vein & Interventional in Omaha which specializes in vascular and pain management treatments, St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln, Mercy Medical Center of Sioux City, Iowa, nearly half of the critical access hospitals in Nebraska, and various clinics around the region.

Advanced Medical Imaging’s specialty areas/offerings include:

Diagnostic Radiology

AMI’s board-certified radiologists interpret images from a variety of scans to help locate and diagnose internal abnormalities. Patients usually will not see a diagnostic radiologist during their visit. Techs, who specialize in collecting images, assist the patients and relay the images to AMI’s physicians. The radiologists then work to ensure that the results of their diagnosis reaches the patient’s referring physicians as quickly as possible.

To ensure the highest quality of care, Advanced Medical Imaging has the largest number of subspecialists in the area. Having physicians who have dedicated years of their lives to hone their skills in specific areas means better diagnostic capabilities and patient care. Fellowship-trained subspecialists within Advanced Medical Imaging include Pediatric, Breast Imaging, Musculoskeletal, Body Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, and Neuroradiology.

Advanced Medical Imaging’s full-service radiology facility located at 7601 Pioneers Boulevard provides a high-quality, low-cost imaging option for Southeast Nebraska. The diagnostic offerings at the Lincoln location include three variations of MRI – including Open MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, image-guided biopsies and X-rays. More mammograms are performed at the AMI Women’s Center than any other private office in the state. The imaging center is open evenings and Saturday mornings making it convenient for walk-in appointments. Along with on-site interpreters for Spanish and Vietnamese, AMI also features interpretation services for over 100 languages.

AMI physicians also provide radiology services to rural hospitals throughout Nebraska and Iowa. Many of Advanced Medical Imaging radiologists come from a rural background and are passionate about ensuring that the high-quality care that is available in urban areas is also available to rural residents. Although it is common in the industry, AMI does not utilize an overnight service for emergency calls. Their radiologists are on call 24/7 to provide the best care when patients need it most.

Vascular & Interventional Radiology

Advanced Medical Imaging is proud to have a growing number of Interventional Radiologists. These physicians are the surgeons of radiology and are able to treat conditions, which once required major surgery, with image-guided, minimally-invasive procedures. Treatments provided by AMI Vascular and Interventional Radiologists include pain relief, vein disorders, and oncology care. In response to patient requests after the incredible success of their varicose and spider vein treatments, AMI providers also now offer aesthetic treatments such as BOTOX®, fillers and facial peels.

In January, Advanced Vein & Interventional opened in Omaha next to Cabela’s. This clinic brings the interventional expertise, which has been offered at AMI in Lincoln for over a decade, to Omaha residents. Advanced Vein & Interventional specializes in varicose vein and migraine treatments.

This June, Advanced Medical Imaging breaks ground on an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) that will be connected to the west side of the current location on Pioneers Boulevard. This new location will make it possible for the interventional radiologists to work with other independent physicians in the area to provide comprehensive care with the newest technologies available. The addition will be more than 10,000 square feet and AMI providers hope to be treating patients at that location as early as summer of 2019.

“This new ASC will allow independent physicians the opportunity to provide direct care to patients,” said Rahul Razdan, M.D., a vascular and interventional radiologist and current president of AMI. “With healthcare prices on the rise, we want to be able to offer the community affordable options for the highest quality of care. We are also passionate about making sure chronic pain sufferers have access to the most innovative minimally-invasive pain relief solutions. For people who suffer from chronic conditions such as migraines and back pain, it is important to offer real long-term treatments and do our part to fight the opioid epidemic.”
