How long have you been in Lincoln?
We founded the company in September of 2005.
Who are the owners/important executives?
Aaron Newell President and Jori Newell Executive Vice President.
What do you think makes you different from other companies similar to yours?
Our philosophy on how to collect and the customer service we provide to our clients.
What kind of community organizations/groups are you involved with?
I am involved with BNI, currently am an ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce and past chair of the ambassador council, American Collectors Association, Nebraska Collectors Association, and various volunteer roles with our church First Evangelical Free Lincoln and board member for the Foundation for Education School District 145.
Do you have a business philosophy or mission statement?
Our value statement is very simple: If you have integrity, nothing else matters; If you do not have integrity, nothing else matters. Our Mission Statement is: We exist to provide the most professional, ethical, and innovative collection solutions for our clients.
What changes have you seen in the industry and your company in the past few years?
Some of the biggest challenges are some of the new regulations that seem to contradict one another. For instance the Foti decision requires agencies to break one law to abide by another.
Another is fighting the stereotypes that all collection agencies are like the rogue collection agencies that make 20/20 or Dateline. In my experience collection agencies in Nebraska are abiding by the laws to the fullest extent. The ones you see in the national news using illegal tactics are few and far between, but they are the ones that seem to give the collection industry a black eye.
What do you see happening with the business in the next five years?
I see more regulation from the government, which may eliminate the rogue agencies. But as with any industry with more regulation you will see costs rise so agencies will have to be creative on preserving the slim margins they have.
What has been your most important achievement as a business?
The growth we have realized. Since starting AR Solutions in 2005 we have experienced a minimum of 30% growth annually year after year. I believe that is attributed to our staff, our attention to customer service, our performance and creating efficiencies in our business processes.
What was the biggest turning point in your business?
One of the most recent turning points has been utilizing coaching from Lori Botz at Coach 2 Win. Lori has been working with our management staff to create an organizational structure, pin point strategic plans, and create efficiencies and balance.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about your business that most people don’t know?
The way we collect. As I mentioned earlier our collection philosophy is different than the stereotypical collection agency. There are not many months that pass without getting at least one thank you letter from the consumers that we are collecting from for the way we worked with them.
What is one goal for your business that you have yet to accomplish?
When businesses think of collection agencies I want AR Solutions to be the first agency they think of statewide.
