Downtown Lincoln is an energetic environment where we live, learn, work, invest and play. Downtown Lincoln Association (downtownlincoln.org) operates the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID), providing services to businesses and property owners such maintenance and landscaping, trash pickup, marketing, events, advocacy and economic development.

Our mission statement is “Provide leadership for a vibrant downtown” and our vision is “A thriving and cohesive downtown.”

The Downtown Lincoln Association was awarded $2.25 million in grant funding by the State of Nebraska Department of Economic Development to benefit the Music District. These funds are being used to implement improvements within the boundaries of the Music District – N through Q Streets from 13th to 14th Street. Improvements include construction of a musician and artist incubation facility, repavement and finishing of select alleys, public speakers, amenities and improvements to select parking garages, and other outdoor enhancements.

The musician and artist incubation facility – called the Music Box – is located at the corner of 14th & N across the street from the Bennett Martin Public Library. Following its construction, the space will be used as a practice space, recording studio and classroom for industry-related classes.
