YOUniq Health is a locally owned outpatient clinic that serves individuals across the lifespan, offering psychiatric and mental health care as well as other innovative wellness services. Opened in 2018, YOUniq Health built its practice around a simple but powerful idea: good healthcare starts with listening. Treatment plans typically combine medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions, and education, tailored to each individual.

At YOUniq Health, care begins with understanding the whole person since mental health does not exist in isolation. According to Dr. Amarachi Ogbonnaya-Akpa, APRN, YOUniq Health’s Clinical Director, the practice’s approach goes beyond symptoms and diagnoses. “Our role is not simply to identify symptoms and assign a diagnosis,” she said. “We want to understand what is happening, why it may be happening and what we can do together to help that person move forward.” Rather than treating patients through the narrow lens of a diagnosis, the clinical team takes time to understand the person behind it—their experiences, concerns and goals.

Patients are also treated as active partners in their own care. Clinicians take the time to listen, welcome questions and collaborate with patients. “We believe the person sitting across from us brings something to the conversation that no textbook or clinical training can provide—their lived experience,” Dr. Ogbonnaya-Akpa said. “We bring our clinical expertise, they bring their story, and good care happens when we combine both.”

Following a Ribbon Cutting ceremony by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce on July 31, 2026, YOUniq Health commenced operations in a new facility at 701 N 45th St, Lincoln, NE 68503, marking an important new chapter for the growing practice. This is not just a change of address but an investment in the community that has supported it since its earliest days. The thoughtfully designed space provides greater capacity for continued growth while creating an environment that supports connection, dignity and healing.

As YOUniq Health settles into its new home, its commitment remains the same as it was in 2018: helping the Lincoln community see that caring for the mind deserves the same openness and dedication as caring for the body—one story at a time.
