Jayson Becker — Here for You with All Things Real Estate

Give me a brief synopsis of what your company does. – I help sellers and buyers navigate through what can sometimes be an intimidating process. I represent home builders, developers, and commercial clients.

How long have you been in Lincoln? – I was born in Doylestown, PA but moved back to Lincoln when I was two. Lincoln is definitely my home.

What do you think makes you different from other companies similar to yours? – I primarily work off of referrals from family/friends and past clients.

What do you like about doing business in Lincoln? – I have lived in Lincoln for so long that it doesn’t take me long to put together a connection with someone that we may have a mutual relationship with. Lincoln is the largest small town in America!

What kind of community organizations/groups is your business involved with? – I’m proud to be associated with Catholic Social Services. I will also be involved with Cornhusker Bank this year gathering new and used shoes for the One Day Without Shoes program. In addition, I’m a part of my neighborhood HOA and past board member for Lincoln Right to Life.

What is your business philosophy or mission statement? – 60% of the watermelon is better than 100% of the grape.

What is one of the biggest challenges that your company has faced?
– Every year I’ve been in this business, I have experienced growth. I have always tried to handle everything on my own, but I have go to the realization that it can no longer be handled by just me. It’s a good problem to have but it does add stress to my life.

What changes have you seen in the industry and your company in the past few years? – I remember getting into this business and selling a home could take up to six months. People were very happy selling their home in that time frame and were also happy to get 95-97% of their asking price. The past 3-5 years have changed peoples perspectives.  Homes last hours now instead of days, and we are also seeing escalations on most properties as well.

What was the biggest turning point in your business? – When I decided to emphasize new construction. I knew that when I put my efforts into building this segment of my business, success would likely follow me. New construction is my passion. I love everything about the building process and working with not only the builders but their clients as well. I feel with my construction background, it gives me a definite advantage over my competition because I know the process so well.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about your business that most people don’t know? – How diversified I am in the real estate sector.

What is one goal for your business that you have yet to accomplish? – To start a successful mentorship program. I can’t do this forever—I want to pass my hard work and efforts down to the next person and help them be successful.
