Last month, Beth Leipold, the senior manager for Tiger Rock Academies, put her training to great use as she saved the life of parent who collapsed while observing lessons at the 84th and Old Cheney location.  Families in the lobby immediately began to help and alerted staff there was a problem.  When Beth found that both breathing and heartbeat had stopped, she administered CPR until emergency medical personnel could arrive.  By the time help arrived, Beth had restored a heartbeat and was able to pass off the care to the EMTs.  The parent is now recovering through additional medical help and her life was saved through Beth’s ability and willingness to take action.

Tiger Rock Academy is well known for their programs for both kids and adults in the areas of martial arts and fitness, but what many people don’t know is the qualifications of the staff and their willingness to step up and take action.  Not only are the instructors certified and required to earn CEUs each year in martial arts and fitness training…..they must also train and certify in first aid and CPR because that is part of protecting people under their watch.
