Ray’s Recommended Five-Application Treatment Plan

Ray’s has a recommended five-application treatment plan with guaranteed grub control, weed control, pre-emergent, post-emergent, fertilizer, and insecticide to maintain and treat your lush, green, and healthy lawn.

March/April — Treat your yard to fertilizer and pre-emergent (Barricade).

May — Treat your yard to fertilizer, pre-emergent (Barricade) and herbicide (Speed Zone with spot treatment as needed).

June — Treat your yard to insecticide (Acelepryn, Billbug, Sod Webworm, and Grub Control) and herbicide (Speed Zone with spot treatment as needed).

July — Treat your yard to fertilizer.

October — Treat your yard to fall fertilizer and herbicide (Speed Zone with spot treatment as needed).

Additional Treatment Options

Fungicide — Treat your yard to fungicide (Green Star) to prevent fungus from invading your turf. You may wish to target one specific fungus with one or two applications or choose the ultimate program with monthly applications for season long control.

Aerating — Treat your yard to some holes to allow for fertilizers, pesticides and water to reach the root system of your turf. Core aerification pulls half-inch diameter, three-inch long soil plugs to allow for easier expansion of roots in compacted soils.

Renovation — Treat your yard to a renovation of old turf, to improve the appearance of your property and most likely reduce maintenance costs. Over seeding with a more efficient and tolerant variety of grass, is just one of many options.

Mowing Your Yard this Summer

Mowing your grass properly is one of the best things you can do for your yard during the summer. It’s important to follow the recommended grass height and frequency for the health of your lawn. In the summer, adjust your mower to a taller grass height. Taller grass shades soil—which reduces water evaporation—leads to deeper roots, and prevents weed seeds from germinating. You will want to time mowings out so you’re never removing more than one-third of the leaf surface at a time. You’ll also want to make sure you are keeping the blades on your mower sharp for a nice, clean cut. Ray’s Lawn and Home Care provides mowing services for those who don’t have the time, ability, or resources to take care of their own lawn.

In addition to mowing, Ray’s also offers edging, treating, aerating, and renovating your lawn, along with power raking, gutter cleaning, and roto-tilling.

Ray’s is proud to receive consistently positive feedback about the quality of services they provide. They work hard to maintain the reputation and trust they have built up over the years. With a down-to-earth and honest approach that keeps your yard and wallet looking green, Ray’s Lawn and Home Care is ready to get started on your next lawn project!
