The Grand Manse Penthouse (www.grandmanse.com/Penthouse-suite) is like no other destination in Lincoln, and we got to experience it and all its glory for a night. We are excited to tell you about our experience and why it should be your choice for your next special evening or weekend.

What sets the Grand Manse apart from other venues in the area is its history. The building was erected in 1904 and opened in 1906 as the U.S. Courthouse and Post Office. Nods to its origin are still seen throughout the halls today as residents, businesses, and esteemed event guests revel in its grandeur. The Strictly Business team invited an intimate group of our friends and clients to take in the enchantment and nostalgia of this Lincoln landmark with us.

The Penthouse is located on the fourth and fifth floors of the Grand Manse, and it also leads up to a terrace on the rooftop where you’ll find lounge chairs, a hot tub, and an unbeatable view of downtown Lincoln. Upon entering the Penthouse, we were faced with a great hallway that emerged us into the luxurious six-bedroom, five-bathroom living quarters. It is so convenient to be able to entertain guests on the main floor while being able to retreat to a private room when needed, and then lie your head down when the festivities have concluded.

The focal point of the Penthouse is the kitchen, which is in open air with a living room featuring a large fireplace and dining area that, combined, offers plenty of seating. The kitchen has ample counter space and an island for preparing and presenting food. There is also a back pantry room for storage and a second refrigerator. You may opt to cater in cuisine for your evening, but we asked our guests to bring appetizers to share. We created the perfect display! People were able to fix up small plates, grab a drink, and then scatter throughout the space to mingle with each other. The Penthouse also has a built-in surround-sound system so up-beat tunes could reach every corner of the party.

Our guests enjoyed touring the historic property, playing shuffleboard upstairs, and being elevated above the city lights for a night. A few of us took a dip in the hot tub as well. Everyone had such a fun time. Over the years, Strictly Business has hosted many a soiree, but this was definitely one of our favorites. It’s no wonder this has become such a popular place for rehearsal dinners, family reunions, Husker game day gatherings, and much more.

The Penthouse, which can sleep 20, is available to be rented out on weeknights and there is a two-night minimum on weekends. We can confidently say that the cost is worth it. It comes with three parking spaces in the covered garage beneath the Grand Manse and it is right in the heart of downtown Lincoln. Though, it’s hard to want to leave this beautiful space even to grab a drink. You can save a lot of money by bringing in your own food and beverages and enjoying them in this royal-like ambiance.
