For over 20 years, Zeng Granite (Zenggranite.com) has been creating beautiful surfaces from granite and quartz and uses them for countertops, fireplaces, and wall features. Zeng’s latest achievement was doubling their space. The team recently opened a new showroom of over 4,000 square feet. The building, located at 3035 N 35th St., also features offices and an education center.

Tim Zeng is the owner and president of Zeng Granite, Inc. He has built an incredible leadership team to allow for growth and a great customer service experience. Joel Clark has been working with Tim for 10 years and is currently the installation and templating manager. Matthew Rodaway has also been with Zeng Granite for 10 years and serves as the shop manager. Jennifer Haralson joined the team in early 2020 and works as the integrator.

“Our customer service sets us apart,” said Tim. “We are the friendliest construction and stone fabrication team in the nation. We strive to make countertops an easy and affordable option for builders, designers, and remodelers. One other service that sets us apart is the ability to fabricate ultra-compact materials, such as Dekton. This newly engineered material has all the qualities of granite, the beauty of quartz, and none of the draw backs of either. It is ultra thin and durable. Our team has been trained and is certified to fabricate and install it.”

Two years ago, Tim took a trip to Italy with the Stone Fabricator’s Alliance, an international organization. He was inspired by how the Europeans use stone throughout their lives and buildings—it isn’t just for countertops over there! On the trip, Tim made great connections with other stone fabrication business owners. This comradery has lead to some big changes at Zeng Granite. For example, the team is currently working weekly to implement an EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System). It will take two years for the full transition and they are about half way there. EOS is a set of simple concepts and practical tools used by more than 100,000 companies around the world to clarify, simplify, and achieve their vision.

Another major change for stone fabricators is the transition from manual labor to digital labor. At Zeng Granite, they run a fully digital wet shop. This puts safety at the forefront of all that they do as employees don’t have to lift heavy pieces of stone or cut the quartz by hand.

With the construction and housing boom in Lincoln right now, many people are remodeling homes or building new ones. New apartments and new retirement communities are going into every neighborhood. All of those places need countertops and fireplaces! Zeng loves being a part of those projects and seeing the city grow.

“We are surrounded by and get to touch mountains every day,” said Tim. “Each piece of granite that comes to us from a quarry is unique. It is like a fingerprint—no two homes have the same piece. That’s pretty amazing if you think about it.”

“Zeng Granite did a fantastic job on our quartz desktops for our accounting office. Tim was very prompt in responding to our needs and followed through and delivered a great product in a fast turn-around time. We were so impressed with Tim and his crew. They were all professional, friendly, and detail-oriented. This is by far the best countertop company we have ever dealt with.” – Patricia Lintel
