Tell us about your business. – Western National Bank (MYWNB.com) is a community bank that focuses on serving the financial needs of individuals, families, and businesses in our 11 communities throughout Nebraska and Kansas. As a community bank, we place a strong emphasis on building personal relationships with customers and providing an impressive range of banking services. With a commitment to community growth, we often participate in local events, initiatives, and partnerships to foster strong connections and help community development.
Tell us a little bit about your family. – My husband, Kean, and I have been married for 3 years, and in December 2024, we welcomed our first son, Aven. Kean is the head coach for both the men’s and women’s golf teams at Nebraska Wesleyan, so between his busy coaching schedule and chasing after our energetic one-year-old, we’re always on the move. We’re also kept on our toes by our playful Cocker Spaniel, Winston, who adds even more fun to our lives!
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – On my off days, you will usually find me out on the golf course, cheering on a hockey game, or spending time with my family and friends. I also love catching a K-State or Nebraska sporting events whenever I can – there’s nothing like the energy of a good game day.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about your business? – We take great pride in being a family-owned business, and I’m incredibly fortunate to work alongside my dad, Dallen George, the president of the bank, and my sister, Cecilia Striler, who oversees the bank’s marketing. Our family’s connection runs so deep that even my dog, Winston, joins us at the Lincoln branch a few days a week, happily greeting customers and adding a bit of extra warmth to the office.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – I would have the superpower of time travel. I would go back in time to visit family and friends who have passed, cherishing moments with them once more, or travel to the future to see what I’ve accomplished and the person I’ve become.
Which talent would you most like to have? – If I could have one talent, it would be cooking. I’m not naturally skilled in the kitchen and being able to prepare excellent food for every meal or occasion would be a dream.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – If I could choose any other profession to be successful in, I’d be a professional background dancer for Taylor Swift. Being able to travel the world, living my best life, and getting paid to dramatically spin around on purpose. Plus, I’d get the perfect mix of fun and freedom – close enough to the spotlight to enjoy the perks but far enough away that nobody’s zooming in to judge my bad hair days.
What is your favorite TV show? – My favorite TV shows are New Girl and Schitt’s Creek – clearly I peak in the “hot mess comedy” genre.
What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant? – My favorite local restaurant is Los Cabos Mexican Grill or CheeseSteak Grille.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – If I could have dinner with one famous person, I’d choose Cody Johnson. I’d love to hear his life stories firsthand, especially the behind-the-scenes moments from his tours. His authenticity, work ethic, and incredible talent make him someone I’d truly be excited to meet.
