Meet Allyssa Sumner, administrative assistant at ServiceMaster PBM.

Tell us a little about your business. – ServiceMaster PBM is a professional cleaning service for commercial properties.

How did you get started in the business? – I was looking for a different job with a better work culture and I chose this one because of the people.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – My biggest challenge professionally was at a different job and it was trying to work with an individual who I didn’t always get along with. We were able to work things out and we actually became a great team for a while before I left.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – My most important achievement professionally is my ability to be the support person in the office for my coworkers so we can function in the office smoothly and so that we can help our other coworkers with requests or questions they have.

Tell us a little about your family. – My professional family at work are amazing individuals that make a great team to see every day and never a dull moment!

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spending time with family, art and roller skating.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – That I secretly perform at comedy open mic nights sometimes.

Who inspires you? – Robin Williams.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “It’s mandatory to grow old, it’s optional to grow up.”

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Wild.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Cobrastyle” by Teddybears.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Controlling time.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – Dancing.

Which talent would you most like to have? – Beatboxing.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – The Humane Society because I love animals, and they need people to be their voice. My adopted dog is like a third kid to me.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The last good book I read was Everything That Remains: A Memoir by The Minimalists by Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus.

What is your favorite movie?Atomic Blonde.

What is your favorite TV show?Peaky Blinders.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Robin Williams or Anthony Bourdain.
