Tell us a little about your business.
We provide all types of creative promotional item solutions including apparel, technology, drinkware, and much more. We love swag! The purpose of Flicker Promotions is to take the stress out of choosing items to fit your budget and brand. We curate options for your projects and take care of all the details.
How did you get started in the business?
I worked as a human resource director for many years before I had kids. I then transitioned to be a stay-at-home mom for several years. During this time, I looked for a career that I could work in and still stay involved with my family. I took an opportunity with another company where I learned about promotional items. After a few years, I decided to start my own company which became Flicker Promotions. I love the business and am so grateful to work with fantastic clients.
Tell us a little about your family.
I am married to my partner in chaos, Jeromy. Together, we have two kids: Jackson and Poppy. They keep us very busy with sports, theatre, and school. We also have one dog and two cats.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I was a paralegal in two different military branches, the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard.
Who inspires you?
I have a close group of friends who are really successful business owners. They hold me accountable and inspire me to innovate and make my business better every day.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
There are two pieces of advice that I live by. The first is, “Say ‘yes’ and figure it out even when you are not sure.” The second is, “Always take the opportunity to learn new skills, even when you are not sure how it will relate to your position now.” There are many skills I learned through the years that I use as a business owner, many that I did not think I would ever have to apply.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?
Innovative.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I always wanted to play the piano. Sadly, I did not take lessons, but I am hoping that I can still make this happen at some point.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?
I would be an attorney. At another time in my life, I considered law school. I really love to discuss almost any legal case, dilemma, or issue. I also love a good crime or legal TV show!
What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?
I am passionate about Shriners Hospitals for Children. Our family is involved as our daughter is a Shriners patient. I love how they advocate for kids and their families that are dealing with orthopedic issues, burns, or a host of other situations.
What is your favorite movie?
When Harry Met Sally.
What is your favorite local restaurant?
It is difficult to pick one as I love to try new restaurants. Right now, it is Banhwich Café. They serve Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches along with bubble teas and green waffles. Amazing!
