Tell us a little about your business. – New View Training (newviewtraining.com) provides CPR, First Aid, AED, and workplace safety training for businesses, schools, childcare providers and community organizations, as well as BLS/ ACLS/ PALS certifications for healthcare professionals. Our mission is simple: give people the confidence and skills to respond in an emergency when every second counts. We are excited to be expanding our presence into the Lincoln area and look forward to connecting with businesses and organizations that value employee safety, preparedness and professional development.
How did you get started in the business? – I began my career as a Critical Care RN. I loved bedside care, but after 15 years and completing my masters in nursing education, I moved into the role of critical care educator and became passionate about the impact high quality education has. I also saw how empowering it was when people knew what to do during a crisis. That inspired me to transition into the type of training and education I do now. I founded New View Training to help make lifesaving skills accessible, practical and engaging!
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Like many entrepreneurs, the biggest challenge is balancing growth while maintaining the personal touch that clients value. As demand increases, it’s important to stay focused on quality, relationships and service.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Building New View Training into a trusted has been incredibly rewarding. However, my greatest achievement is knowing that our training has helped people save lives and respond confidently. When a student shares a story about successfully using CPR or First Aid skills, it reinforces why this work matters.
Tell us a little about your family. – My husband, Dave, and I have three wonderful children. Tyler and his wife Lauren (and our new grandbaby, Henry) live in Omaha; Cadyn is studying Business and Entrepreneurship at the University of Tampa, and our youngest, Annelise, is in high school and keeps us busy with volleyball. We also have a very full house that includes dogs, cats, horses and even a turtle.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Starting my own business. It required me to step outside my comfort zone, trust my experience and embrace entrepreneurship. It taught me that growth often begins when you’re willing to take a chance on yourself.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – You can usually find me painting, thrifting, reading or enjoying time with my family and animals. Those simple moments help me recharge and stay grounded.
Who inspires you? – I’m inspired by everyday people who quietly make a difference in their communities. Volunteers, caregivers, teachers, first responders and nonprofit leaders often work behind the scenes without recognition, but their impact is immeasurable.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Do things that scare you.” Growth rarely happens inside your comfort zone.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Compassionate.
What local nonprofit organization are you passionate about or involved with? – I serve on the Board of Directors for Town & Country Animal Rescue. I’ve fostered animals and volunteered in rescue efforts for many years… it changes the lives of animals and people!
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Florence Nightingale. As a nurse, I’ve always admired Florence Nightingale for her courage to challenge society’s perception of nursing. It’s hard to imagine the determination it took to transform nursing into the respected profession it is today. I would love to hear firsthand how she remained steadfast in the face of resistance and created such lasting change.
