What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Jumping back into the workforce after spending seven years at home with my kids. Getting back into a professional groove while keeping up with everything at home took some serious effort, but I was fully committed to making it work. Going through that experience gave me a whole new level of discipline and time management that has made me an even stronger employee overall.
Tell us a little about your family. – My husband, Kurtis, and I have four children and two dogs. Life at our house is always full of energy, and I truly love the joy and chaos that come with having a big family.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spending quality time with my family. Some of our favorite things to do are having fire pits in the driveway while watching movies or playing games together. We also love being outdoors. Life can get so hectic, so those quiet moments of conversation are just as special to me as anything else. Those days really help me recharge so I can bring my best self to work.
Who inspires you? – My parents. My mother devoted her career to education, and my father served as a pastor in the Methodist church. I saw them lead with quiet strength, support people through difficult moments, and advocate for those whose voices were not always heard. They taught me that success is measured not only by what you achieve, but by how you support others along the way.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Move in silence, but let your actions speak with purpose.”
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Genuine.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Super speed. There are never enough hours in the day, and the ability to move at lightning speed would fix that instantly.
Which talent would you most like to have? – Cooking. I tend to stick to simple, basic meals, while my husband is the true chef in our home, cooking incredible meals from scratch with ease.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I would own an ice cream shop. I love the idea of running a place that brings joy to everyone who walks through the door.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
What is your favorite movie? – A Beautiful Mind or The Secret Life of Pets.
What is your favorite TV show? – The Big Bang Theory.
What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant? – Charred Burger.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Eleanor Roosevelt. She was a woman ahead of her time, a fearless advocate for human rights and equality. I would love the opportunity to hear her story firsthand and learn from a woman whose courage and compassion changed the world.
