Tell us a little about your business.

We specialize in cleaning up and restoring emergencies. Things like bursting pipes in the winter, dishwasher/refrigerator lines breaking that cause unwanted water to go under your kitchen floor or into walls, or failing sump pump that causes your entire basement to flood…the list goes on. We also do a lot of mold cleanup and deodorization. Leaking pipes behind walls or a leaking foundation or a lack of proper ventilation in an area with excess moisture that hits the right temperature and humidity can cause mold to spread rapidly. We also do fire restoration and do reconstruction. We’ve done a job where a skunk got into the house and sprayed over the basement so we really can help you out with any emergency that happens in your home or business.

How did you get started in the business?

I have been helping my dad with restoration work since I was a kid. After graduating from UNL, my parents and I decided to expand our services and open up 1-800 WATER DAMAGE.

Tell us a little about your family.

I am thankful that most of my family lives around Lincoln. We spend a lot of time together—having cookouts, playing games (Catan, Ticket to Ride), and spending time outside are some of our favorite things to do.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

I enjoy spending time at state parks, fishing, hiking, and swimming.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

I love the sport of wrestling. I coach at Lincoln Southwest and enjoy sharing my knowledge of the sport with others.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

In my line of work, different complications arise a lot. My parents taught me to “adapt, overcome, and achieve,” which has helped me a lot.

If you had a theme song, what would it be?

“I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?

Kind.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

Every time I snap my fingers, the most delicious pastries and sweets would appear.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?

College wrestling coach.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?

I don’t read as much as I would like, but I loved the Harry Potter series growing up.

What is your favorite movie?

The Wolf of Wall Street.

What is your favorite TV show?

Impractical Jokers.

What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant?

I love me a good Cheesesteak from CheeseSteak Grille. Vincenzo’s Ristorante downtown is also very good.
