Dr. Austin Weaver is a chiropractor at CoreCare Chiropractic.  He enjoys treating acute and chronic conditions for the whole family, ranging from sprained ankles and strained muscles to headaches and arthritis.  Helping patients become pain-free naturally is a priority with Dr. Weaver, which is why he does nutritional counseling and offers a medically managed weight loss program.

How did you get started in the business? – I have always had a passion to help others, but didn’t know in what capacity.  When deciding on a path to take, I kept going back to chiropractic and how it helped me stay in the game during high school athletics.  After doing some research and visiting Logan College of Chiropractic, I knew this was my calling.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – My most important achievement professionally is when a patient’s health and quality of life is improved through my care.  I do a lot of teaching to my patients about how to take control of their own health and happiness, which is very empowering and rewarding.

Tell me a little about your family. – I have been blessed this year with a new baby boy, William.  I also have a 2 year old daughter, Peytin and have been married to my wife, Elyse, for 5 years.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – My biggest turning point would be when my wife and I moved to St. Louis, MO.  We moved away two weeks after getting married and lived there for over four years while I attended Logan College of Chiropractic.  While I pursued my passion to become a doctor we met many lifelong friends, grew personally and professionally, and became closer as a family.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – When I take a day off it is usually to spend quality time with my family doing fun activities outside or watching a good movie.  On special occasions I may indulge and play a round of golf.

What are you the most proud of? – Without a doubt, my family.  There is nothing like watching your kids grow and learn.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – One that has always stuck with me is “nothing worth having comes easy.”

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Optimistic

Which talent would you most like to have? – Speed reading.  I would be able to read more research articles in less time to keep up with the latest information and treatments.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – A professional athlete.  Getting paid to play a game is always appealing.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – A new restaurant called Ace’s Haus of Cuisine is quickly rising on my favorites list.
