Tell us a little about your business.

Using the latest in eye care technology, the doctors at Lincoln Vision Center provide personalized, professional optometry services for all ages, from infants to senior citizens. We also have a large selection of quality frames, lenses and contact lenses to fit all types, styles and budgets.

How did you get started in the business?

My dad was an optometrist. He told me he thought I would be good at it. But truly I am always striving to be as good as him!

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

Owning a business and learning the electronic medical record.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

When patients are happy with their vision.

Tell us a little about your family.

My husband is a family practice physician. We have four kids who are currently attending three different schools.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?

Having children and the responsibility of taking care of someone other than myself that came along with it.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

Go to concerts, watch my kids play sports, shop and have lunch with my friends.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

I sang in the Nebraska Wesleyan Choir in Russia. I also play tennis.

What are you the most proud of?

My kids!

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?

Hopeful.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

Invisibility.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?

I could use my creativity more.

Which talent would you most like to have?

There are two; writing and drawing.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?

I’d like to be really good with computers.

What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?

Camp Sonshine and Hope Venture. Both are faith-based organizations, and I identify with and very much support their missions.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?

I just read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline and really enjoyed it. There’s a lot in it about culture in the 1980’s so it was fun to read and reminisce about when I was growing up.

What is your favorite movie?

These days I mostly watch a lot of Disney and Pixar movies. I really liked Up!

What is your favorite TV show?

The Middle and The Goldbergs. They are both super funny.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

La Paz and Hacienda Real. I enjoy Mexican food a lot.
