Sign Pro of Lincoln Inc. is a full-service custom sign company, offering a wide variety of products including indoor and outdoor signs, vehicle and fleet graphics, banners, displays, decals and more. In addition to signage and other product offerings, Sign Pro also offers professional design services. Jared Shald is the owner of Sign Pro of Lincoln.
Tell us a little about your business. – We work with people from all types of businesses and organizations to help get their name and message out. Sign Pro is a professional, service-oriented company featuring a wide variety of high quality products along with full color printing capabilities. We utilize cutting-edge graphics equipment to produce quality visual communication on a diverse selection of materials.
How did you get started in the business? – I began working in production at Sign Pro in 2007 while attending UNL for my degree in graphic design. While at Sign Pro, I gained experience in many of the different aspects of the business.
In 2010 I began my own company, Premier Graphics LLC. Until the end of 2013 our shop was located in Beatrice, NE. Over the first few years the business evolved from mostly an apparel printing shop into a sign and graphics business.
In January 2014, we opened a new location in Lincoln and began focusing on vehicle graphics and wraps. In late 2014 we were approached by the previous owners of Sign Pro with the opportunity to purchase the business.
In January 2015 Premier Graphics LLC, and Sign Pro of Lincoln Inc. merged and came together in one facility. Our new facility at 5621 S. 50th Street (50th & Old Cheney) is much larger, and gives us the opportunity to work more efficiently and widen our product offerings.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Bringing two businesses together, and into one location, without a large disruption of daily operations.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Becoming the owner of the company that got me started in my profession.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – When I began working at Sign Pro in 2007, I met my wife who was also working there at the time. Now we are married and owners of the business. I would say the beginning of my employment there has shaped my life since.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spend time with my family, hit the trails on my bike, or any other outdoor activity.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – I think flight or superhuman speed would be great super powers to have. They would make travel much more enjoyable in being able to skip the hassle of traffic and airports.
What is your favorite TV show? – Big Bang Theory.
What is your favorite restaurant? – Lazlo’s Brewery & Grill.
