Tell us a little about your business. – PayWorks, LLC (payworksllc.com) is a payroll and bookkeeping company based right here in Lincoln. Essentially, we handle the day-to-day tasks and compliance so local business owners can focus on doing what they actually love.
How did you get started in the business? – I thrive in fast-paced environments and love helping people succeed through accurate payroll and bookkeeping.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – My greatest professional growth came from learning to give myself grace—developing the courage to risk failure and the patience to view mistakes as part of the learning process.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Transformed an SSD law practice into a 100% paperless, remote operation, leveraging AI and digital workflows to slash costs and build scalable case management systems.
Tell us a little about your family. – My wonderful husband and I have been married for 27 years. We have been blessed with 9 children (8 boys, 1 girl), and two beautiful grandchildren.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – In my rare downtime, nothing beats a fi re pit dinner with my family. We love playing cornhole, eating s’mores and just laughing together. Sneaking in that family time is always the best part!
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I was baptized as an adult at the age of 22.
Who inspires you? – There is nothing more inspiring than watching my children carve out their own paths, completely true to who they are. My greatest hope for them is simply that they pursue what they love with all their hearts.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.” – St. Catherine of Siena.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Passionate.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Days Like These” by Luke Combs or “I’m in a Hurry (and Don’t Know Why)” by Alabama.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – The ability to envision a mountain of laundry being finished and—poof—it’s instantly washed, folded and put away!
Which talent would you most like to have? – Physical strength and athleticism.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Teaching.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – I only wish I had the time to sit down and read books!
What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant? – Don and Millie’s.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Mother Angelica; I love her wit and unwavering faith.
