Tell us a little about your business.

From interim or part-time CFO to staff accountant, our CFO Systems team is ready to step in and assist at all levels to help our clients grow. In addition, the CFO Search and Staffing team has decades of industry expertise that provides them with the expertise to find a perfect match between candidates’ skillsets and career goals and clients’ strategic goals.

How did you get started in the business?

After working in both public and private accounting firms where I was provided with opportunities to build, grow, and lead financial, operational and human resource departments, I realized I had a passion for helping a wide range of clients simultaneously rather than just one at a time. CFO Systems provides me with the flexibility and opportunity to do all of that as well as use my background to help companies recruit and hire new team members that best fit their financial needs.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

Providing strategic financial recommendations to company leaders that enable them to make smart business decisions. To date, I’ve financially evaluated hundreds of business opportunities.

Tell us a little about your family.

I have been married to my husband Justin for 16 years. We have two children, Allie (10) and Carter (7), and one fur baby named Niko.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

I love spending time with my family! We enjoy playing sports together along with attending concerts and Husker games.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

At a very young age, I started dancing and, in high school, I was a member of a team that won three national championships. As of 2019, my husband and our friends now co-own a dance studio, LUXE Dance Academy, in Lincoln.

Who inspires you?

My father has always been a huge inspiration to me. He’s truly the definition of work hard, play hard. Working extremely early mornings or very late nights were always a part of his normal routine to ensure he never missed one of my events.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children…to leave the world a better place…to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

Mind reading.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?

I’ve been a long-time supporter of the Lincoln Food Bank’s Backpack Program. I love their commitment to feeding families and children. I’m also a big supporter of the Barnabas Community which is led by members of our church. This is a faith-based community “where all are clothed and fed” and provided worship and life-skill learning opportunities.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?

The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon. I have been encouraging my team members to read the book, which has led to excellent discussions on the importance of a positive outlook at both work and home.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

Lazlo’s Brewery & Grill—the Rainbow Chicken and the Pub Club are two of the best meals in town!
