Tell us a little about your business.
Craftsmanship and integrity are incredibly important to us. Designing a space or piece of furniture that is cohesive with your home and lifestyle is what we strive for as well. We are family owned and believe in glorifying God and taking care of others.
How did you get started in the business?
Since childhood, I have enjoyed creating something from nothing. Being able to build something beautiful from something as simple as wood is so satisfying. I also started from nothing, financially speaking and experience wise, but over the years, I’ve learned how to improve my skills while surrounding myself with guys who could teach me.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?
With my first business, I lost my focus and my company suffered because of it. I had to eventually let my employees go and sell everything for pennies on the dollar. I have vowed to never let that happen again.
What has been your most important achievement professionally?
This business is to glorify God and take care of people. When I see a customer elated from our services, that is success to me. We did land an account with Cirque du Soleil, in which we build all of their teeterboards—that is pretty cool!
Tell us a little about your family.
My wife is the administrator for our company. She’s my best friend. We have five children, ranging in age from three to 14 years old. They all have their own unique personalities.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
Realizing the difference between religion and a relationship with Jesus—to be able to know what real joy is and have clarity about my purpose on this earth; to know that no matter what I’ve done I can be forgiven.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Improve my own home, golf, travel, and hang out with friends and family.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I was born on a U.S. Navy base in Okinawa, Japan. I’ve also moved 33 times in my life.
Who inspires you?
I like following designers and architects who think outside of the box.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?
Singing.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?
Counseling.
What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?

The Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan.
