Tell us a little about your business. – REGA Engineering (regaeng.com) has been making a difference throughout the Midwest for over 20 years. Founded in 2003 with the goal of supporting the diverse needs of their clients, REGA is now regarded as a leading provider of reliable surveying, planning, and civil engineering services. We’ve completed over 3,000 projects spanning from Minnesota to Texas including major developments for the University of Nebraska. REGA Engineering prioritizes reliability, responsiveness, and attention to detail above all else, and our lengthy record of satisfied clients speaks for itself.
How did you get started in the business? – I have an interest in history and math. My journey in post-secondary education eventually led me to surveying, which has a mix of both. I enjoy being outdoors, and there can be plenty of that in surveying as well.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Getting my surveying license.
Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married for 30 years to one of the most amazing women I have ever met. We have two grown children who I am very proud of.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I have a lot of hobbies and activities that I enjoy, so I have plenty to choose from. I really enjoy a road trip with my wife.
Who inspires you? – The easy answer to this is singular such as God, or my parents, etc. I like to draw from a broader base and appreciate the depth of inspiration I can get from people I interact with daily.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – My father once told me: “Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.” I would have to say that healthy skepticism has served me well.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Long-range vision.
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – I’m a fair RC airplane pilot.
Which talent would you most like to have? – Writing.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Small engine repair.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Spearhead by Adam Makos
What is your favorite movie? – While it may show my age, Casablanca is at the top of my favorite movie list.
What is your favorite TV show? – I don’t watch a lot of TV but I have always enjoyed Gunsmoke. I especially like the early episodes with Dennis Weaver.
What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant? – Mettle Grill.
