Meet Kylie Reinsch, pharmacy manager at Nebraska LTC Pharmacy.

Tell us a little about your business.Nebraska LTC Pharmacy (neltcpharmacy.com) is a full-service retail pharmacy specializing in custom care plans and compliance packaging. We consider ourselves a concierge-style pharmacy that takes the stress out of managing medications. Our goal is to reduce medication errors and hospitalizations. We are always looking to do more and grow while being engaged and helping the community. Our pharmacy has a location in both Lincoln and Omaha, and we provide free delivery. In Lincoln, we are located off of 40th and Normal Blvd.

How did you get started in the business? – I began working in nursing as a CNA/medication aide in 2009. In 2016, I made the switch to working in pharmacy. I worked retail pharmacy for one year and then LTC Pharmacy for five years. I began my venture with Nebraska LTC Pharmacy in September 2021and quickly worked my way up to earning my most recent promotion to pharmacy manager. This is my dream job because I have the freedom and support to manage a successful small business that deeply cares about the community and our patients.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Juggling all of the responsibilities of being a single mom and pharmacy manager.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Earning my promotion to pharmacy manager. Creating efficient workflow procedures and creating/launching the Mental Health Ability Project. Through Nebraska LTC Pharmacy’s Mental Health Ability Project, we had a month-long awareness project for mental health in May that offered support and resources for those struggling with mental health to help increase awareness and compliance in care plans that include taking medications required for successful treatment.

Tell us a little about your family. – I have three daughters, Audrey (13), Makenzie (8), and Savannah (3). I grew up and graduated in York. My family lived in Geneva for eight years before my daughters and I moved to Lincoln in 2017.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Choosing sobriety.

Who inspires you? – My boss and owner of Nebraska LTC Pharmacy, Shannon Hammerschmidt. She has a sky’s-the-limit attitude, an incredible work ethic, and she supports others in every aspect. My boyfriend is another person who inspires me. He is incredibly hard working, kind, genuine, and humble.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Tenacious.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Soaring for C! They share a lot of the same passion and focuses that are important to me. Additionally, anything mental health-related because of my personal experiences that lead to my passion for advocating.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Muchachos. They have great people, amazing food, and I love seeing their growth and involvement with the community.
