Tell us a little about your business. – At Hamilton (HamiltonisBusiness.com), we specialize in a diverse array of business technology solutions including Managed IT services, Cybersecurity, Business Phone Systems and Data Center services. We understand the distinct challenges that businesses encounter, and we offer solutions that fit your business needs now and your goals for the future.
How did you get started in the business? – I’ve spent most of my career in IT, helping businesses use technology more effectively. Over the years, I realized how much I enjoy working directly with people and solving their challenges through technology, which led me into this business.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – I think it’s when you need to reinvent yourself after facing a career change that wasn’t your choice.
Tell us a little about your family. – My husband and I have been married for 14 years this month; and we have two boys, Leo is 11 and just started in sixth grade, and Jack is 9 and is a third grader. Their schedules keep us very busy!
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – It’s strange, but it happened before I was born. My parents moved here from Canada!
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spend time with friends and family; attend my children’s events.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I auditioned for American Idol…
Who inspires you? – My husband, and kids; and my mom after realizing how hard being one really is!
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “We learn more about ourselves from our tough customers.”
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “I Will Survive”
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – Singing.
Which talent would you most like to have? – Speed reading; then I might enjoy it more!
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Pop singer!
What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I was on the Lincoln Children’s Museum board for six years. I enjoyed being a part of that community while my kids were younger and love what they provide for the families of Lincoln and people visiting our city! I now spend some time on the PTO for my son’s elementary school.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – I’m not really a reader; but I enjoy a crime or history podcast!
