How did you get started in the business? – After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, I came up to Lincoln to visit some family, got a job at an Advertising agency and roughly three years later started Outpost12 Studios with my co-founder Chad Gleason.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – The biggest challenge I face professionally has always been account’s receivables. Thankfully we’ve had some really great clients that always pay on time to offset those struggles when the pop up.
Tell us a little about your family. – I been married to my wife Korina since 2005 and we have a beautiful daughter Alexaundria who just finished kindergarten. She’s my best bud and we try to do everything together.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – In 2012 I battled cancer and coming out of it healthy has been the biggest turning point in my life.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Besides hanging out with my daughter Alex, I like to work on my Jeep Wrangler, go to movies, and if I can sneak away on the weekend, go off-roading.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I played in a professional tennis tournament as a junior and if it weren’t for being hit by a car, I would have pursued a career in tennis and hopefully would’ve been a collegiate tennis coach. I also used to road-race cars and at one time carried a SCCA regional license.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Advice is free. It doesn’t cost anything to listen and learn. Even if you don’t apply it, you’ll always have a new perspective.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – I think I’d like to have Wolverine’s power of extreme healing. With it comes extremely slow aging as well but more importantly no permanent injuries or sickness.
What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Over the years I’ve worked with several non-profits and giving back to the community has been a great experience. I don’t have a favorite but I won’t turn anyone away without helping in some capacity, even if it’s just some good sound advice.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Benjamin Franklin, it would be pretty cool to blow his mind with what we did with his discovery of electricity! Besides I bet he was a pretty big partier back in his day.
