Tell us a little about your business.

We started out just doing service work for restaurants (HVAC, refrigeration, and cooking equipment). Then, we added residential service and replacement about eight years later.

How did you get started in the business?

My mom and dad were farmers. I grew up in the late 70s/early 80s and farming was a very tough go of it then. I decided to go to trade school and see what fit. I kind of accidentally fell into the HVAC thing.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

Handling everything that goes into running a business while trying to still be a good dad and husband to my family and give them the time they deserve.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

Running a successful business and employing great people.

Tell us a little about your family.

I’m married to Cindy who is a dental hygienist. We have three children. The oldest, Dayne, works at TechMasters. Him and his wife Johanna have a one-year-old set of twins (a boy and a girl). Our daughter Ellie is a freshman at UNL. She is studying to be a dental hygienist. The youngest is Jake, a sophomore at Lincoln East. He participates in tennis, swimming, and show choir.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?

Moving to Lincoln in 1986 and beginning my career as a HVAC service tech.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

Golf.

Who inspires you?

My parents. They taught me hard work even though they didn’t always get the financial reward they deserved.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Work hard and the rest will fall into place.

Financial advisor.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?

I have supported several baseball teams over the years. I think sports are such a great outlet for young kids, and the game teaches them a lot about teamwork, resilience, and life in general. Big Brothers Big Sisters is another organization that helps kids develop through mentorship. I also love the mission of the American Cancer Association. They make sure cancer patients and their families have what they need to get through treatments and keep hope for the future.
