Rob Richter began his relationship with Miracle Mile Motors as a customer in 1969 when he bought a 1969 Z28 Camaro.  He began hanging around the dealership and they started putting him to work.  He ended up buying the business in 1980.  Miracle Mile Motors was started in 1965 by Jack Keef.  Soon after buying the business in 1980, Rob’s brother Tim came to work with him and the brothers have continued selling exceptionally clean, low mileage, quality pre-owned transportation.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?
Taking over and buying the business in 1980 with very little money and paying 21% interest on funds borrowed plus no help and not knowing what the future would hold.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?
Succeeding in business and growing from a small place with 15 cars to where we are today.

Tell me a little about your family.
I came from a family of six boys and three girls and married my beautiful wife and partner Marla in July of 1970.  Shortly after came three daughters: Robin, Kristie and Kara and now grandchildren.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
Getting drafted, going to Vietnam and getting shot three times.  This made me realize how precious life is and how short it can be.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Play golf or spend the day with my wife, children and grandkids.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
That while serving in Vietnam in 1968, I was shot three times.

What are you the most proud of?
My wife, children, grandchildren and the continued support from all of them.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
When I was working seven days a week and many many hours, I asked a well-respected and successful dealer, Dick Flynn, if he had ever had any regrets and he told me he wished he would have spent more time with his kids when they were growing up.  Family, in the end, is most important.

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish?
To have the business grow and see my brother Tim take over and keep it going.

How would your friends describe you?
A very giving person.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
To not worry so much.

What is your favorite TV show?
Storage Wars

What is your favorite Lincoln restaurant?

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be?
